Plain-English answers about what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
Last updated: September 25, 2026
Hannibal Garage Door is a local, family-owned garage door company serving South King County, Washington. This policy explains how we handle the information you share with us through our website, by phone or in person. We keep it simple: we only collect what we need to help you, and we never sell it.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect the information we need to answer your request and do the job. Depending on how you use our website, that may include:
- Contact details — your name, phone number, email address, street address and ZIP code, entered when you book a service, request an estimate or contact us.
- Project details — the problem you describe, the door size, style, model and features you choose in our estimator, and any coupon code you enter.
- Photos — pictures of your garage door, opener or damage that you choose to upload so we can prepare before we arrive.
- Appointment details — the date and time window you select.
- Technical information — like most websites, our servers automatically record basic request data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use this to keep the site secure and working, and to prevent abuse of our forms.
We do not ask for or store credit card or bank information on this website.
2. How We Use Your Information
Hannibal Garage Door uses your information to:
- Schedule, confirm and carry out your repair, inspection or installation.
- Prepare and send your estimate, including emailing it to you when you ask us to.
- Call or text you about your request, appointment or job.
- Keep records of past work, quotes and service history for your home.
- Improve our website and services, and protect them against spam and fraud.
We will not add you to marketing emails or text messages unless you ask us to, and you can tell us to stop contacting you at any time.
4. Cookies & Browser Storage
Our booking and estimate forms save your progress in your own browser (using “local storage”) so you don’t lose your answers if you leave the page. We also remember in your browser if you closed our special-offer popup, so it doesn’t keep reappearing. This information stays on your device; you can clear it any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. If we add tools like website analytics in the future, we will update this policy first.
5. How Long We Keep It
We keep customer and job records for as long as they are useful for serving you — for example, so we know what was installed on your door if you call us again — and as long as needed for our tax, accounting and legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see “Your Choices” below).
6. How We Protect It
Your information is stored on secured servers, and only authorized members of our team can access it through a password-protected system. Uploaded photos are checked for file type and size and saved under random, unguessable file names, and they are never shown on our public website. No website can guarantee perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information and limit who can see it.
7. Your Choices
You can contact us at any time to:
- Ask what information we have about you.
- Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Ask us to delete your information, unless we need to keep it for legal or accounting reasons.
- Stop receiving calls, texts or emails from us that aren’t about a job in progress.
Just call or text us at (206) 880-5348. We will verify it’s really you before making changes.
8. Children’s Privacy
Our website and services are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be made clear on this page before they take effect.
